The Country Craft Market is the longest-running craft market in the Western Cape. Established in 1983 to enable local crafters, artists and artisans to promote their talents, this soon became a regular market, held twice a month, renowned for the place to buy handcrafts of an exceptional quality. This quality has been maintained to this day, and no mass-produced items are to be found.
Southey’s Vines, in the heart of Somerset West, has been the home of the Country Craft Market for very many years. Strolling along the paths under the trees makes shopping at the market a very tranquil experience.
